By car you are a short journey away from the beautiful Ayrshire backdrop to many stunning, often secluded areas of natural beauty such as Loch Doon, with its extra ordinary castle that was moved from the centre of the loch. Nearby the west coast of Ayrshire awaits travellers wanting to investigate a rugged coastline, sample fresh scottish fish restaurants, and explore amazing castles such as Culzean and Dunure.

Another fantastic Ayrshire attraction is the popular Dumfries House rescued by HRH Prince Charles.It's only ten minutes drive from our B&B, in the heart of Ayrshire and boasts the most spledid collection of pursose made Chipendale furniture. There's a bistro to enjoy, cafe and grounds which Alan Titchmarsh has a hand in designing and is added to by crafts people learning traditional crafts with The Prince's Foundation.

Within walking distance, if you are a keen walker we have a great selection of Ayrshire outdoor experiences including: a wildlife park with lagoon attracting a vast array of water birds and many exotic plants, walks down by Afton Water, which inspired Robert Burns to write the song Flow Gently Sweet Afton Water, and walks into the Galloway Hills, where Blackcraige Hill leads to Afton Reservoir, here you will find a picturesque glen with no through road.
